‘The Big Three’ ….. SOLD OUT ….. SOLD OUT

THIS LTD EDITION HAS NOW SOLD OUT………The year is 1976 and the intense rivalry between short oval legends George Polley (306), Barry Lee (351) and Mick Collard (19) continues at Hednesford Raceway. The quiet and unassuming George Polley was simply known as ‘The Driver’ and worked miracles campaigning his venerable Anglia instead of developing more modern machinery, while Barry Lee, using his newly built MkII Escort RS at this event, was the sponsor- friendly master showman who’s driving skills earned him four world champion titles. Mick Collard had an image of ‘the bad boy’ of racing but was every bit the equal of Lee and Polley, and attracted an almost fanatical fan following at his local Aldershot track. The trio took Hot Rod Racing to a new level of popularity in the 1970’s and 80’s which consequently brought the best out of all of them while still maintaining mutual respect between the three. Large crowds were enthralled by the close, frantic and competitive racing which can only be experienced on the short oval circuits in what was surely the golden age of Hot Rod Racing.

The above writing appears on the print. Limited to 250 prints.
